Biography
PainStorm were formed in 1999 by two brothers, Angelo and Pancrazio Buccolieri, respectively the drummer and the rhytmic guitarist/vocalist of the band. After recruiting Giuseppe Maruccia (that now is the bass guitarist of the band), the three start to rehearse and to write their own songs, but they weren't able to find the right feeling so Giuseppe left the band. In the summer time the band, wich at that time was called Magma, found another guitarist (Vincenzo Valletta), and with him they performed their first show, but soon after that Vincenzo left the band, and finally the band starts to become a real band when Massimiliano Di Mauro (bass guitar) joined and helped them to write their first two songs (Kill all your Fear & Masters of the Truth), and with him they performed again in San Donaci. At that period the band improved a lot with the help of Giuseppe (guitar), that gived them many technical support, so they decided to record a pre-demo and hear people's opinions. The work is appreciated by many, so the band, after noticing that Massimiliano had always less time to spend with the band, recalled Giuseppe Maruccia to keep the project alive, and this time with him they write "Welcome to my fucked up world", a very fast song that received good feedback from the people during the first mini-tour of the band, that changed the monicker: Magma was now PainStorm. In January 2003 became official the introduction of Enrico in the band as the lead guitarist. Then they finished a new song, "Near the doors of hell" and recorded their demo-cd, called "Welcome".
